Which is your favorite rod company?
Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
Shakespeare is not on the list? I've probably had more of those than everything else...
(Well, when your parents are not anglers and buy them for you at KMart what do you expect? Glad those days are behind me.)

Don't want to limit myself to one, but if I had to it would be a... DOBYNS!!!
Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

Another vote for Dobyns. A close second would be St. Croix.

Denali is my rod company.....Light, tough, and sensetive. These rods are designed for competion, and are designed with top of the line quality starting at $79.00, and simply the best technique specific rods I have ever used. Not to mention great warranty and customer service as well!
Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
It is hard to pick just one. I guess I will pick Dobyns. But that is not to say that I do not like my Damiki, ABU, Daiwa, Lucky Craft and Okuma rods, but for right now I am fishing with finesse tackle and it is hard to beat the DX70C and 702C for throwing light weight stuff.

Love my steez, but gotta vote St.Croix
Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
i'm mostly gloomis guy and voted as such.
Over the years I had/have st croix, kistler, shimano, powel, quantum, airrus, BPS, Cabelas and steez rods. Honestly they have all had positive qualities. Recently I posted that I had a great week of fishing with the "B-team" and that the rods were very effective tools. Just a ton of good options in the market.
A better post migth have been to ask what the least favorite rod company is. Honestly i've not had a terrible experience with any of the brands so would not have been able to vote.

Seriously guys, Bob's got a point. Shakespeare should have been the most voted on!!! As is with most of us, I am almost certain, we all started out fishing the same exact way and that is with cheap Walmart,K-Mart,Target etc., Shakespeare rods and reels. And I am almost certain, Shakespeare sells more rods and reels than perhaps Dobyns, G-Loomis, St.Croix combined! We here at TT are the minority when it comes to brands that we buy for rods.Bob Ellis wrote:Shakespeare is not on the list? I've probably had more of those than everything else...

Powell, best rod in its price range hands down.

The question is which rod would you choose if you could only have one, not which rod company sells the most rods.Buck2thPerch wrote:Seriously guys, Bob's got a point. 1 vote for Powell...
I love the Powell Max rods they are very versatile and light. I haven't tried the Endurance series yet but I'm hoping they change the color combo for this series next year. I don't dislike the purple color I just think if they went with a color combo like the Dobyns Champion they would be more pleasing to the eye.

I love the Mudhole MHX blanks, so homemade all the way.

D.R. is the front runner for me. Daiwa is a close second.
