Yeah, that's a sweet stick too! The 611 pro bass spinning. I was able to hold a display at a recent outdoor show in DFW.BRONZEBACK32 wrote:I was going to try one but the specific model I wanted I could not get until next year, told by the company.Jrob wrote:Where is G-rods?? Honestly, try a G-Rods rod and it will change your expectations of what a quality build, finish, and deflection should be. Great rod series for all fishing flavors!!!

Currently using MB XX and Black Jungle Rods.... and have some Dobyns CB Glass Rods after selling off my Powell Max CB Glass rods... Definitely regret selling the Powell Max 754 CB Glass as those were great all around rods for chatterbait, spinnerbaits, squarebill and mid to deep cranking.

More and more becoming an ALX guy. Have a Kistler Mag 2 on order, we'll see how that goes.

Gloomis, St Croix and Megasbass.
Can I have all 3 be my favorite?

Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
Currently Dobyns followed by St Croix
I have a few Diawa's but not a big fan, but slowly warming up to them (1 Steez one zillion and a tatula)
I have had a few Gloomis rods but have never been a big fan of them and I mean all their series- way over priced and hyped.
I do have a Deep Flex that is great for Lakers (lake trout) and throwing medium sized cranks, but other than that every Gloomis I purchased I never regretted getting rid of them.
I have a couple of Megabass but as with Gloomis, they are okay.

Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
Here was a discussion on another board I contribute on. Basically the question was "Do you feel it's better to fish with rods of the same company? or is it better to fish reels all by the same company" it was a one way or another question. You couldn't have all rods by one company AND all reels. The OP thought it was better to fish rods of the same maker, because you get familiar with that rod companies characteristics, like feel, loading, casting, etc. I felt having reels from the same company was more important because casting was a skill that improves with familiarity and you can have all your reels by the same company and in the same model line with just different retrieve speeds. I highly doubt anyone has the exact same model rods from the same company to do every technique and since you'll have different model rods they'll all have different characteristics you'll have to learn individually, unlike all the same reels. If you learn one, you learn them all.
So yeah, I've never been a fan of owning every rod by the same company because 1) no one company will or can have a dominate rod for every single fishing technique out there, imo. secondly, I just love trying out rods from different companies.
I only have a couple rods that I used to consider 'untouchable'' as in I'm not looking to replace them with something I feel is better ...until I do find one better
GLX783C
G-Rod Pro Bass 7'MH-FC (Favorite rod of all time, like ever-ever)
Kisteler Helium III 6-9 MH-EXF (this rod may get replaced with a G-rod Pro bass 6-10 med/hvy fast, please comment if you have owned both these rods, would love to hear how you compare the two)
All my longer rods I'll sell and replace at will and do regularly. I would love to find a 7-2 to 7-5 heavy rod I could add to that list. Hopefully the Xtasy 755 will fulfill that

If we are going based on performance for the dollar? Abu. If we are going performance. G.Loomis. If we are going performance and looks? Megabass.
