Phenix Rods?
Through good fortune, i just acquired six Pheniix rods. They are:
X10
X13
UMBX 707ML casting
UMBX 706M spinning
UMBX 700ML casting
UMBX 700XH casting
Anyway, being new to Phenix rods, I was hoping to get some feedback from any of you who have used them. I know that the X10 got an Editors Choice award, but how about the other rods?
Thanks.

Re: Phenix Rods?
Perry, I don't own any Phenix rods but there were many posts prior to the site crash. From what I can remember the general consensus was that they were quality rods that were finished quite well. The only perceived negative was that some of the rods were a bit tip heavy. (not necessarily a bad quality for many applications) Congratulations on the new rods, they are sweet looking rods for sure.

I don't own any of the phenix rods that you listed, but I had other phenix rods before. They are nice rods!

I love my Ultra MBX Classic 7'7" MHF. I have it paired with an I'ZE Light and use it for 1/2-1.25oz spinnerbaits, 3/8-3/4oz lipless, big topwaters and 3/8-3/4oz buzzbaits.

Re: Phenix Rods?
Hey, hey, Dragon1! How the heck have you been? Glad you like your Phenix. I am really excited to fish these rods this year. I've only had a few hours out on the water with three of them - the 706, 707ML and the X13. Going to take out the X10 with me next week. My son has already absconded with the 700XH so I'm not sure when, if ever, I'm going to get to try that rod.dragon1 wrote:I love my Ultra MBX Classic 7'7" MHF. I hadn't mentioned it yet, but UPS broke the 700ML in shipping so it's going to be a while before I get to fish that rod.
Has anyone fished the crankbait rods?
Re: Phenix Rods?
Hahaha...love it! Absconded with, eh? But hey, he's family...for now...
I love my Phenix, other than too many double footed guides on the bottom of the rod, they are great. If Phenix would have been wise enough to just use ONE double foot on the 7'7" MHF, it would be a much better plastics rod IMO as it would balance out near perfect with all of todays sub 7oz reels.
Their top of the line is close to being here as is their introductory offer...I just wish that the blanks weren't so much $$$!

I'm not sure if I will ever get to fish that rod. I'll just have to sneak it out one day. i actually like the two footed guides down low.
I cant wait to see the new rods!

The blanks are very good quality. Very sensitive sticks.
Re: Phenix Rods?
Anyone have experience with the Phenix USB800H-C, I met up with the Phenix sales reps at the RI Saltwater Fishing Show and the rod seems ideal for striper fishing.

The 800h is a STICK! I throw big baits with it hear on the California Delta for stripers. The other rods you may want to look at if your talking salt is the Phenix Inshore Assasin Hybrid series. I'm not sure if Robert and Liwei had that series there. But you can check them out online!
