my green NRX 822S SYR is slightly heavier than the two blues ones that were reported in this thread. i'm not sure if that's due to: 1) rod variability, 2) scale variability, 3) the switch from 3M powerlux resin to another different resin, or 4) the green paint and glossy clearcoat that the blue NRXs do not have. i dunno...maybe a combination of them all.
My green NRX SYR 822S weighs 3.35oz. And yes, I have cross checked the accuracy of the scale using a known weight. :)[/quote

bassmar, thank you very much the info...it was exactly what i was hoping for. i have two scales, both checked for accuracy, that i use to double-check my weights. i'm more convinced than ever that the alternate resin loomis now uses in their NRX blanks is heavier since all my NRXs are newer and are post-3M powerlux. regardless, i am totally digging my NRXs \:D/
Not sure when the change to 3M took place but I purchased my rod in August 2013.

the move away from the 3M powerlux resin was announced in september 2013 and probably took awhile for the existing blanks to be used up.

All of the Poison Adrena weights are listed on the Shimano Japan site, and I've found them to be very accurate. The 1610ML is listed at 115 grams.

I have a Poison Adrena 7'4" Heavy, Fast Pitch/Flip
174H-PF
It weighs 4.9 oz

Thanks! I had a feeling it was less than 4oz. I will pair it with the Exsence DC since I sold the Tat Type R already, hopefully the balance is fine

I was shocked myself. I weighed it over and over and got +/1 0.1grams. The rod does not feel heavy in hand. Definitely balances well with my Concept KP reel.

crazy indeed. they must've put a lot of weight in the butt to have it balance well. where's the actual balancing pt for u? i have the 745hp paired with a tourney g and it balances right at the end of the lock nut. unfortunately i don't have a scale to weigh mine

i now have two new NRX 872S JWR spinning rods, one blue and one green. here are my test results using the same scale:

green: 107.2 grams (3.78 ounces)

blue: 105.6 grams (3.72 ounces)

and, just for kicks, the g.loomis label with the price on it that they wrap around the handle, it weighs 0.4 grams
