Rod Weights

Post by Micropterus salmoides » Thu Mar 03, 2011 12:41 am

I really liked the previous rod weights thread, so I did a browser history search and found the link to the pdf that had quite a few rods. Thanks to whoever started the original thread and posted the pdf list. :)

If someone wanted to take the time they could probably pull the info for rods not added to the PDF from Google's cached pages. If anyone wants to take a look:

Google 'site:tackletour.net rod weights' (without quotes). First link should be the thread for rod weights, click on 'cached' below link to view thread. You can view pages after the first by right clicking the page number and selecting copy shortcut/target/link (depending on browser), pasting into google search and selecting cache again.

It's helped me before so maybe someone else will be able to use it. I don't have the time or I would make sure the PDF is updated, this is one of the few sources for rod weights I've found.

Micro, thanks for posting this. If anyone has the original, I recently weighed my TDZL701MXB (missing on the PDF) and it went 4.2 oz. on my postal scale.

Thanks, Micro.
I saved a copy of the list in word document and will be able to add new items to it. I've uploaded it to my google and everyone should have read access to it.

I'll keep updating the list from time to time based on tackletour members' inputs.

That would be nice if someone could add more to the list, or even yet do same thing with the bait casting reels if it has not been yet...

Many thanks, Springcreeks!
I'm the guy "guilty" of starting this thread originally but just didn't have the heart to start again from scratch when the forums went pshhhht. :crying:

Great idea to put it up on Google.

I'll make sure to update the PDF on my site (http://pages.infinit.net/fishing) in case some people still wind up there.

This is only for factory made rods and not custom rods right?

Thanks,
