I have an early NRX852 casting rod with GF designation and have had no problems. There are some rather long "lines" in the foregrip cork but they don't affect use or performance.

Re: NRX foregrip problem
I got a NRX 854 in the fall and have had no issues with it, I got the NRX dropshot rod a few months ago and it does not have a different foregrip?

Re: NRX foregrip problem
The foregrip has changed for sure, because I sent mine back and got a new one. It was not the foregrip that was the main issue with those particular rods it was the reel seat. G-loomis sent me a new rod and then I sent in my old rod. I had to give them a credit card number so that they knew they were not going to get screwed but I never went one day without the rod.
I would send it in
