you have made a wise choice!

If I had to fish 1 rod for the remainder of my days, this would be it. My 894's have a black chairleg butt cap mounted on them with 3 quarters as I recall. Makes the rod balance exactly at the nut seat with a 6oz reel. when I was working senko's and burning worms, I did not notice the balance. Then I got tennis elbow and every rod I own now is balanced perfectly unless I'm on a tip down application.

Most commonly I will have a 3/8oz to 1/2oz T-rig on these rods with 30# braid but I fish them 1/4oz to 1oz and it seems to do it all. When I first got this rod, I was onto a bite buzzing worms above the surface. On one epic day I boated about 75 fish and missed very few. Taught me how forgiving this rod is; though it seems stout.
