Diawa Steez SV specific rods

Post by Aquaftm45 » Fri Jun 22, 2018 6:07 pm

In anticipation of getting a Steez TW SV in the near future, I have been on the hunt for the perfect rod for pairing. Looking at the US offerings of Steez Rods leaves much to be desired. Looking overseas, I discovered (which others might already know) an entire stable of Steez rod offerings. None appear to have the US humback affliction.
Even what appears to be some SV specific rods. Including a 1 piece, 7ft. sub 100g rod rated for 1/16 to 1/2oz. A 1 piece 7.2ft., 120g rod rated for 3/16 to 11/2oz.
Maybe the SV in the rod spec does not stand for the same SV, but looks like many would be a match made in heaven

The US Steez 7'1 Heavy power compile X is a very nice rod IMO. Nothing beats an air beam reel seat IMO. It feels so comfortable in my hands and looks amazing as well. I also have the US SVF 7'2 MH but I think that rod is just ok. These are the models before the AGS.

The JDM offerings have a lot more models to choose from. They also have the newest Steez Racing Design rods but those are $850 retail and have limited models.

The only thing with that chart is it doesn't show the models tapers. This one at least shows what the rod was made for. Sort helps you distinguish it the rod is fast or regular taper.

Daiwa rods that end with SV mean compile-x blank made in Japan. It's easier to see in steez rods since they have red accents.

Sometimes I am way behind the curve, other times the action. Thanks for all of the info.

Yes these are the 2 JDM Steez rods that I have wanted to be brought to our shores for awhile.
The Harrier-Finesse and the Strike Force.

These diagrams are great. I saved the old Megabass diagrams. It's interesting to see the evolution of the various rods.
