Release rigs

Post by Dalleinf » Thu Nov 29, 2018 11:45 am

For some time, Danish angler, inventor, author, and Fishing mag editor Jens Bursell has worked and published on his various release rigs, which use smaller hooks and confer increased hook-up and landing ratios with less damage to fish.

Some of his rigs are now being made by Westin and will hit the EU market soon:

His rigs were featured in a recent In•Fisherman magazine and more information can be found here

...there are more articles on bursell.dk

Personally, I have found some of the rigs too difficult and time consuming to make. I am sure that Jens Bursells arguments for smaller hooks and release rigs are sound and therefore look forward to some pre-made rigs.

For those of you who pay attention every little detail, the rigs may be of interest.

That looks like it would be a good idea for the S-Waver. The hooks on those, while super sharp, are gigantic.
This is the way.
