I've lost myself a few times while going to certain Eastern Ontario back lakes; sometimes the access (including abandoned logging roads, as well as overgrown atv/snowmobile trails) is so maze-like I'll lose my bearings and spend up to a few hours trying to figure out where I am, exactly.

More pliers then I could count. Dump the pliers in the water and throw the bait on the deck.

lures, lures, and oh, some more lures,...

Those fence posts in tight spots...
Those windy days of rod tip line wrapped...
Those foul bird nest...
Someone hooking your rod and dropping it off into the depths...

Worst of all...lost time...that could've been spent on more fishing. :big grin:
slip bobbing is the laziest way to fish

So far I have been lucky and have only lost a couple of hats. Came very close on rods a couple of times dropping the overboard due to arthritis.

A ton of money

Let's see, a box of muskie baits, an avid spinning rod with a Ci4 on it, hats, one phone, half of a Revo Toro (brand new and the screws holding the side plate and spool in were completely loose out of the box), Boga grip I left at the launch.

First time I ever cast a 110 (Jr.) I lost it. Sad day. Have just a few of them, but that alone has left me still hesitant to throw them. Also lost a ton of lipless cranks when I first started, they were my favorite lure to use.

Reading this thread makes me feel better.

I’ve done the usual that’s been listed a few times in this thread: phone, rods and pliers galore.

Ice fishing holes are like magnets. Phones, pliers, rod holders. I lost 1 phone reg fishing, fell out the pouch of my hoodie. Frustrating.

A lot of trout this past Wednesday but the one thing I remember losing most while fishing was my Tackle box when I was 15. At the age of 13 I saved so long to order my Plano 757 and a bunch of baits and lures from BassPro catalog. I went out on a boat and it fell out of the boat and into the water with all the drawers and lid wide open. My mom even sent in the few dollars to Plano so they would make a engraved name tag to go on the box, That was a very sad day :(

This is not the box but what it looked like, I loved that box

Edward78, when I was about the same age, my folks bought me a green metal tackle box with cantilevered trays that opened to each side. I carefully lined the trays with sheet cork to keep lures from rusting or getting dulled by sliding around. I left it at the side of a trout stream at the edge of the city when my dad called time; I thought he'd brought it to the car, he thought I had. Realized it was missing when we got home, raced back, gone. No luck with lost & found at the police station. Money was tight, and every lure in that box had been dreamed of and worked for or waited for as a birthday or Christmas gift. Because my dad knew how much the loss meant to me, he didn't give me the hard time for my carelessness that some other father might have given his kid, and as years passed I came to regard that reaction of his as worth much more than the box and everything in it.
