Daiwa cracking down on wholesalers/private dealers?

The new lines of reels don't have the steep discount like the previous 2 Tatula generations had on Ebay. Is Daiwa cracking down on these guys and what they can charge for their product?

Technically, all dealers who run through Daiwa directly should have to stick to Daiwa's MSRP pricing, or risk losing their dealership. I'm not sure if they've recently started cracking down on this, but I did notice what you did, so it seems to be a reasonable assumption.

Happy and sad if it's true. Also, if it is true, I get where Daiwa would be coming from.

Probably what's happening. Althought thos Tatula deals probably acted as a "gateway" for people to try their products and then people end up climbing up the product chain buying Zillions and such.

I would bet that when dealers like Tackle Warehouse have major sales on reels at the end of their runs that the manufactor has given them discount to clear their stock, also.

But the 2018 100 just got released. The curado i and k started at MSRP for awhile then dropped once the market was flooded. I bet in time they will also drop

You would think that as long as they are selling reels, and getting paid from the vendors, that thats alls that would matter. :?

Companies do that to prevent wholesalers and them folk from running small tackle shops out of business. Same with a lot of apparel. Names like The North Face have set prices for the most part so, local clothing stores don't turn into try on closets when people find a lower price online.

New Tatula 100s are already on ebay for 109$. All RH though so far. The LH models are in stock now at TW and other small shops I follow on IG. Shouldn't be too long before the LH hit ebay for a discount.
