Best Warm Weather Rain Gear
Best Warm Weather Rain Gear
I know this has been asked, before; but, what's the best warm weather rain gear (jacket and bibs)? I fish in the Southeast; and, my Cabela's Guidewear is too hot.
Thanks

Columbia makes good and inexpensive light rain gear for warmer conditions.

I also use Columbia, worked well for me for years. Their Watertight jacket is awesome.

I have found it tough to find a lightweight hot weather rain gear as well.

I have one of these jackets:

It is a little breathable and bone-dry, but like most jackets in hot weather you will sweat a lot. Wearing only a light sun-shirt/dry fit shirt under it helps. Also loose enough to wear a fleece under it in cooler weather instead of using different rain jackets.
It is the best I have used though and affordable.

I have a light weight Columbia rain jacket that I have had for years and it is awesome. Being in so cal I didn't want anything super heavy and this was one is perfect for when it's not super cold. My other rain suit is also a Columbia that is insulated but not heavy. The set cost me $250 from a Columbia outlet store. No way I would spend $1000 dollars on a Simms. I'm sure they are good but I will go with Columbia. Great product that won't kill your budget.

I have an older pair of Cabela's Guidewear Lite which have been great. These are the newer version:
