Meiho Tackle Storage

Post by Windy City » Tue Jul 24, 2018 11:33 am

Anyone here using the Meiho tackle storage systems? Like the VS-7070 box? Any opinions? How about availability in the states or abroad from a trusted retailer?

Thanks

I have a few of their smaller boxes for terminal tackle and lures, great quality, the latches are much nicer than the Plano or Flambeau versions.

I've been using Meiho/Versus 3080 and several other boxes from the company for about 15 years, with the 3080 a primary box for 10 years. Very satisfied. Just added another box to use for sundry items like light bulbs, fuses, etc.
If there is anything specific you'd like to know, I'd be glad to help.

I hope you like it. One of the neatest attributes is the dividers things being about 1/16, maybe less, apart than the 2" or so. You can really customize your trays. The 3080 top and bottom are designed so if you lift it without it being snapped, the contents still won't spill all over the place:

I could go major geek on these boxes but I'm guessing that's obvious!

I use many of the standard size tackle boxes and the Bucket Mouth 9000 - I find the quality of the boxes to be better than many other producers e.g. Plano and Flambeau. The Bucket Mouth is also great and very durable albeit also quite big (too big for my kayak).

JohnnyA thanks for the pictures. Information and photos are hard to come by. I ordered the 7070 box and will sort out sub-boxes once recieved.

Dalleinf and Winstondry thanks for your opinions too!

The Plano stuff kills me as even the "better" boxes (Prolatch) don't live. I never buy/use the interchangeable divider boxes as they are no good for anything like small terminal tackle. Everything ends up mixed together.

In the past for my Salmon gear I used the stacked screw together clear storage jars for small stuff as items are easy to identify, retrieve, they are compact and fairly durable.

For body baits I use Dreamweaver Tube files. Again easy to see what is what and keeps tangles and damage to a minimum.

Looking forward to checking out the Meiho stuff.

These boxes look like some high quality grade. I'm looking to replacing my 3600 plano's, do you happen to know which tackle boxes are about the same size of the 3600 plano's? I'm looking for one that can store my terminal tackle, one for hard baits, and one for jigs and general purpose.

Thanks in advance!

Actually they look exactly like Gamakatsu boxes, other than the color. Probably same vendor, different label ;). Good stuff though.
