This looks interesting!!! I like the Ima Helips and Kelly J style prop baits, and even though they have 2 props it really looks like the Whopper Plopper 75 could compete for size and action.

on tackle warehouse they have the pre order i cast stuff up . looks like shimano brought over the new calcutta 18 300 and 400 size to the states, alde 50 mgl. curado 150 dc, slx, metanium dc, and a tranx 200 size reel.

daiwa has the exist on the site saying november. I thought this was a earlier preorder? I guess the guys you already have them went through japan im guessing. also looks like a tatula 200 is going to be there along with the 100.

Metanium DC - is it a 2015 or just released most newest model?

From the pics it looks like the 2015 version. A little bit of a joke if that is true..

Each year there's less and less I'm excited about, which is good for my bank account! But there's so much of the same thing, or a new variant of something that already exists. Lots of marketing and hype, it's disappointing. Personally, I'm not liking the direction a lot of companies are going with graphics, general aesthetic choices, etc.

I will be picking up a Whopper Plopper 75 and a few other things, and trying out a new braid or two.

IMO this year is the best of the last several.

Yeah, most exciting thing I've seen so far is an VMC nail weight with whiskers. Thank goodness for JDM

Wish I would go there this year, probably would give a piece of paper with instructions to every big vendor -
"10 different options how to order directly from Japan and get stuff delivered in 3 business days to a private residence with a Confederate flag on it in rural small town USA"
I guess they are assume we are complete idiots here.

I have to agree with you on two points.

1) Yes, some vendors really think that US buyers are not doing their homework. So charging extra for the same product that we can get from JDM is a joke.

2) It is 2018 dude. What is up with this Confederations Flag? Unfortunately it is the sad truth that more and more US-Americans are caught in the vicious circle of racially based hate and pure stupidity (not saying that it applies to you necessarily).
Where is this land of the free and the brave??? In the words of your "great" leader: "Sad."

This has been a poor ICAST so far for me. Shimano is killing it. Great looking $99 price point reel, under $300 DC reel, new Aldebaran, the Metanium DC being the same as the older one (loosing a bearing, no MGL/DC hybrid spool) doesn't make much sense, but everything else has been good.

Daiwa... my god. Doyo reels, more OLD Tatula variants (not even CT framed), and a Tatula with a great frame. Really bummed, maybe they have something hid or something great to surprise us with...

Few good looking baits, liking the terminal tackle Owner is bringing. The Berkley topwater options are nice for a cheaper alternative. 3.25" Rage Swimmers will work for a cheaper Keitech and maybe be easier for some to get (stick to Keitech).

Not much of an ICAST so far though.

Are the rods getting shown tomorrow I have not really seen any new rod offerings?? Megabass, loomis, or the like have any new things up the sleeve or is it just the things that were released before i cast.

I got to go today. Did not see a MB booth. I Did not see anything I didn't know about at loomis, but may have missed it. First time I handled the conquests. Just felt right. Just the messenger, but direct quote from loomis rep giving me a rundown "nrx is more sensitive, by these have better power". Beautiful rods, but many on this forum seem to have already handled them.

The masses are going to love that steez a frame. Killer move by daiwa to drop it in the tat.
