Wow I hope they are good. Price seems kinda high. I have two and think I paid less that $200 for them.JWR075 wrote:Also saw 13's new Envy rods. 46T graphite and Fuji SS Sic guides.

It's oddly about the size of Lew's LFS reels. They are really small too, have a 32mm spool, 7.5 ratio gears, composite frames, bearing count (and placement I am assuming-4 in knobs, 1 main shaft, 1 roller bearing, 3 spool/pinion, 1 levelwind), and last + most odd Daiwa mentions the "double anodized" spool.big_gee wrote:If you watch Zona live Seth is fishing with the new CG reel and when he palms the reel you can barely see the top so I assume it's small size will palm well.
That's not the new CG. It's a 50th anniversary OG zillion. Seth still uses some old Daiwas like the coastal OG zillion, 50th anniversary, PX68, etc.big_gee wrote:If you watch Zona live Seth is fishing with the new CG reel and when he palms the reel you can barely see the top so I assume it's small size will palm well.
So basically these are all small compact Reels that are all approx. the same size as the discontinued SV105.LowRange wrote:http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/cg80/index.html

Carbon graphite, carbon resin, carbon concept. What sort of marketing magic is this?
Already on several retailer sites for pre-order at:E73Bass wrote: With the CG80 being the upper end reel of the 3 and guessing all under $150. with the CC80 most likely being a $80 reel and the CR80 being a $100 reel.
Just a guess.
Really thought the last generation were great values. The increased cost to me and components makes the value go down IMO.johnnybassboat wrote:Wow I hope they are good. Price seems kinda high.
