What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?

Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

I have a pair of $29 BPS Crappie Max rods I use with an Alphas reel to cast 1/8 ounce lures, usually a tiny spinnerbait. I’m sure these rods were intended for a spincast reel, I find them stiffer than most UL rods and they work great for low $$ BFS rods.
I have a few old Fenwick pistol grip rods I use once ina while too. One is boron.

I have a couple of Rick Clunn BPS med. heavy 7' rods and battle worn Quantum E600 reels that I use as dock setups to test new baits. I can throw anything from 5/16 oz. jerkbaits to 2 oz whopper ploppers with those setups, and they just keep on performing.

Picked this up about 2 weeks ago for $41 and have been really enjoying the action of the blank. It's like this thing was made for throwing small to medium sized cranks. I threw some U-40 on the cork and away we went. Looking for a light cranking reel and this will be one sweet setup!

I’ve got several inshore rods that have actions more like ML that I like. I tend to like a lighter action rod overall.MountainMan 83 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 12:43 pmPicked this up about 2 weeks ago for $41 and have been really enjoying the action of the blank.
