Cheap nail clipper to cut line.

Tsurinoya Proflex 2 C632UL rod for UL baitcasting work. Fuji reel seat and guides, as well as an excellent cork handle and crisp blank, all for 65USD. Throws the ultra light stuff really well.

Shimano IXR spinning reel for shad raps. 4.1:1 gear ratio, rear drag, and quick fire. They’re like $12.

John Coo/ Toma 4 piece travel rod. It’s a cheap, Chinese made, rod that has the perfect action and bend for throwing crankbaits. I have the 8’ model and it’s a sweet deal at $25 shipped TYD.

Rapala Teho for ice fishing in depths less than 20 ft (basically all of my ice fishing).

Largest bass I've ever caught (and many, many small ones) was caught on a rat-l-trap and Shakespeare Agility 6'6" medium combo. I fished it like crazy for years until the anti-reverse on the reel gave out. I now have a Taula CT mounted on the rod and occasionally use it for topwaters and squarebills.

I use cheap mono, too, and not just as backing. H2O brand for anything that requires mono.C_diesel2 wrote:I use cheap mono line to back my reels
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I’ve got a few academy mettle reels that have seen their fair share of use. Bought them when they were half off at $25 a piece.

Cabelas Crankshaft, I like it way more than any high end rod I have tried for chatterbaits and big crankbaits.

I still use my cheap Cabela's fly tying vise that I bought 20+ years ago.

I use a late 80s pistol grip set-up to chuck spinnerbaits and paddletails in tight quarters. Also has sentimental value.
