DX703 w/ Curado 201e7 and 30# Samurai braid.
I have been throwing a lot of 3/16oz tungsten w/ 3/0 hook and a 4" chigger craw or YUM craw papi this season with the still-spawning behaviour of the bass. Been doing very well w/ this setup.

Steez EX/MB honeycomb spool 7lbs sniper
Weightless Duo V shades but I also use this combo for nekos, neds, smaller jig heads with the keitechs, drop shots, Duo pencils, smaller rip baits and top water.

Just reconfigured my UL setup. 09AldebaranMG with a Avail50RR honeycomb spool, on a 13 Defy M F 6'7 rod, and 10lb Seaguar Senshi. That rig can cast a 1/4oz bait soo easily and smooth.

NRX 893 with a Core 50mg7 and 15# Tatsu. I throw mostly 3/16 tungsten wights with a small creature bait (beaver) or a small worm or tube.

Wow....I am amazed that you can get the rig to work for you, especially wtih 15-lb line and a MH rod.

Goldrod,

I have the Tat signature 7'M-MH Ehler with a Tatula 8.1 CT with 8lb Tatsu and love this for light trigs and weightless baits.

I've used down to 1/8 with my 893 no problem with Aldebaran.

How does it work for pitching?

I have done the same, pitching is no problem. I pitch more than cast. The reel setup is just as important as the rod.

Okay....you guys convinced me to try it again with a baitcaster.

I will use a tuned Pixy Librerto with a shallow spool....most likely with 8 lb Tatsu...and a NRX852 or GLX BCR802...

The challenge is getting the spool rotating with lite lures.
How do you set up your reel?
Do you use any aftermarket things such as shallow spools?
Is your reel super tuned?
