Postimg.org

Free, organized, not bloated, and you can batch resize upon upload. I quit using PB awhile ago.

There maybe other options, but all old posts are no longer viewable for lots of people and would take too much time to fix them all up.

yep that's the bigger issue - stopped using PB about a year ago and moved to imgur for forums that don't have image services... Typically forums that do have image services charge a membership fee of some sort, but it's usually very reasonable.

Anyway, yeah back to it so many threads on so many forums are now shite due to PB - all my firearms realted forums old threads look like crap now... and correct most won't bother to go back and try to correct links, which I completely understand.

PB is being stupid... yes storage costs $$ but storage cost is the same whether hotlinking is allowed or not - the revenue comes from ads of which views are generated by hotlinking to an extent. No hotlinking, nobody going to PB except people looking at their own photos...for free lol. I"m sure there's more to it but sounds like SL/Execs getting greedy not understanding how the revenue stream actually works.

Agreed, PB has ruined many boards because of the loss of history. Windows gives an easy option for resizing photos, so the use of 3rd party software (the owners of which may repeat the behaviour of PB) seems both risky and unnecessary
.

It would be one thing if Photobucket was asking twenty to thirty bucks to share photos, but they want $399 for 3rd party hosting.

Would it take up more server space to just have auto resizing here on TT? I feel like that would solve everything, at least for folks who just want to upload a pic from their phone or don't want to fool with photo hosting sites.
I'm not tech savvy so I don't know if that uses additional space, but... it seems like it wouldn't, given that the direct upload option is already available (just without the auto/selectable resizing option).
