ICAST 2017

Post by jte54 » Tue May 30, 2017 7:45 am

Only 42 days until ICAST, so does anybody have any good rumors as to what we'll be seeing other than the new stuff already debuted at the classic?

20th Anniversary TD-Z! Not really but one can wish!

Definitely a new Curado (maybe green again) and maybe a new Daiwa platform (like the SV105 size) with a beefed up drag, etc.

I saw a video of updated Tatulas(non cts). It was a Daiwa Japan video though

Are they the ones with the cork knobs on them? Do you have a link?

So basically it's the Anniversary Tatula color scheme and/or CT scheme with a deeper spool.

Here we go again. Just like the OG Tatula frame, Daiwa is going to run with it. Miles and miles of different reels built around this frame. HD, HLC, Etc.

I think it's just an update of the "regular" tatula series. Not sure if they are going to unveil at I CAST though.

I ask every year. Any chance of a next gen NRX? The way technologies are evolving so quickly, you'd think we'd be do for an overhaul.

Heard rumors of a new high end rod released by shimano, not sure if it will be under GLoomis.

A new 50 size Calcutta Conquest or if they really want my money, a 50 size Daiwa Ryoga. A guy can dream.

Looks more like an update than new variations

They are calling it an HD 150 size. So I bet it is similar to the original HD, but with a less deep spool and magforce Z (still has moving inductor), instead of the fixed inductor like my original Tatula HD. I had always wished mine didn't have a fixed, didn't realize it back then until after I'd used it a few times...

I don't think they can make a deep spool with a moving inductor because the parts need to be able to fit inside the arbor.
This is the way.

If you watch the video close though, it's not a deep spool like the HD, looks more like the type r, probably in between. I just want that damn plastic lock nut on the handle gone off mine, looks cheap as can be.
