I have a bunch of 2000 and 2500 sized reels so I'm gonna try out the 3012 and hopefully like it!

How do you think it will match on the St. Croix Legend Xtreme 7' Medium?

DirtyD64,

I agree once you get to a little thicker line the 3000 because a better choice. When using flouro I'm mainly using 5 and 6lb. I only have one reel with 10 braid so I don't seem to have too many line issues. When I'm on the boat and we start to cover water I will take my drop shot rod and cut off the bait and let the line out as we go down the bank or if we make a quick run to let the line untwist.

Great trick, used it many times. Sometimes do it with braid if it seems twisted too. Wonder exactly why that works so good? Figure there is less resistance on non twisted line so the current from boat driving straightens it back out, like a kinked water hose dragging behind a fighter jet (not tangled, just springed up)
