I haven't tried Texas Tackle, but these are great. Very satisfied.

I bought mine at bass.jp couple years ago. Look up some Japanese websites.

Texas Tackle are the best because they make it easier to get the wedge into the ring and allow you to hold the ring more easily as you turn it.

I have several styles but finding myself only using the Texas tackle ones if possible. The design is different and very easy to use. The orange handles are good for all around and the big green ones are amazing if you fish big swimbait or heavier saltwater tackle.

If you intend to change many split rings then go with Texas Tackle - I have many different split ring pliers (20+ !!!) but prefer my 3 Texas Tackle pliers...

They may look like nothing special but when you change many rings in one setting then you notice the difference. If you just change one split ring from time to time then it does not matter...

I use the 5" KVD Braid Cutter and Split Ring Pilers made by Mustad... They are "Ultra-Sharp" for Braid Line..

These are amazing for cutting braid because of the serrated blades--the line never seems to slip, so they cut cleanly and reliably. But in all honesty, these are nowhere near as easy to use as split ring pliers as the Texas Tackle pliers.

Yes I agree with you on the use as split ring pilers, but the price point is cheaper for some one who wants a cheaper pilers.
