Re: Determining Water Temps
Most accurate way to get a water temp reading at different levels: Thermometer (like a pool thermometer or something similar), measured and marked rope, and a weight. The water temp at all depths is good info to have, as it will tell you at which depth the bass are most likely hanging out. There may be something more high tech you can use, but this set up would work. Drop the thermometer down to a desired depth, wait a few minutes, then pull it up and read the temp. As long as you pull it up fast enough, you should get a pretty accurate reading of what the temp was at that depth.

Click the area you need. Some of the zones will also aggregate buoy info.
And while we are at it http://sstcharts.com covers most of USA ocean surface temps.

Just like the above state, but a little more like what your looking for, and as you can see in the reviews users have not been happy with it. Looks like the pool temp on some rope is your best bet.

To get what your looking for, your going to have to pay more then you want. For it to be reliable, when you compare the price of the pool temp on a rope for the information you need I think that's its your best bet.
