floggin' smallies
floggin' smallies
Has anyone used this poor boys creation yet. thinking about a x'mas present for my bigshot brother who has countless custom rods and too many MB 110's to count. we fish fairly clear to really clear water in the NE, nj, upstate ny and ct. he has 2 hds 7's (lowrance) would it be worth getting him a device like this for our smallie fishin Any info would help. thanks in advance

Have not used it but looks like it could be helpful
Re: floggin' smallies
for 100 bucks I would say invest in some different tackle or make one yourself
Re: floggin' smallies
well i didn't get him one for x'mas but he bought himself one. his tournament fishing partner aka wife is laughing at him, said she's gonna kick him off the side of the boat when he's on his knee's with his head looking through the Road Construction Cone

Re: floggin' smallies
I just caught Mark Zonas fishing show where he was using this while fishing in MI with Byron Velvick and it was really something to see. Both those guys wanted to use the cone more than they wanted to fish just because they were more entertained by watching 4-6lb smallies in 15-20' of water go crazy on their baits. Byron had the expected reaction to it, laughing hyterically until he looked through it then he didnt want to give it up.

Does look super cool, read about a couple of issues ago in Bassmasters...would love to try it,but wouldn't be worth a damn within 4 hours of where I'm at.........lookin to get a new boat worthy of Erie,if I can pull that off in the next month or two,I will be getting one of these kooky cones...And then,I will challenge Tokugawa to an Erie smallmouth fish off!!!! Winner gets one of his Ito's! lmao

This is not really a new invention. A underwater viewer has been around for DECADES. New twist on its application though.
and it really looks EXACTLY like this product
HAHHA..bad photoshopping is here http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm/ma ... ogger:2571
5 gallon bucket, a sheet of lexan, and some epoxy would cost about 10 bucks at the most....something I may try.

50 years ago, my dad had one sold by Herters. I, being just a kid, was facinated with it. It was made from a plastic coated cardboard tube with a circular cut piece of window glass.
