Mine was a 10lb largemouth Team Daiwa rod and reel, 14lb Stren at Falls Res. in N.C. 1995
and a 6-6oz smallie on a $15.00 dollar spinning reel and a Daiwa spinning rod, 12lb Stren and a sassy shad in 1983 at Dale Hollow after watching Bill Dance and Billy Westmoreland do a show using sassy shads.

Gear used was actually my first baitcasting setup, a 6'6" medium Shimano Sojourn paired up with my Daiwa Procaster (I got this reel after reading the review on tackletour). I believe I was using 12lb big game. Fish was caught on a Chartreuse Shad Pointer 100dd. Me and my cousin were fishing the main docks at a local lake. The regular Pointer 100 couldn't get deep enough so I was using a deep diver. Few casts later and I see this monster bass just cruise next to my Pointer. Paused it, waited, waited, then it chomped on it. Hook set, reel in, it takes a giant leap in the air, I bring it in closer and it makes a good 30 feet run. Fastest fish ever, I couldn't do anything and my rod was pointing downwards because of the runs. Sure enough after another good run, I bring it in, slide it on the shore, and grab a hold of it. Pretty good size bass. I've caught few close to it, but it's really hard to break this mark when you're not exclusively targeting giant bass.

Flouroclear is an AWESOME line. I don't think enough guys know how limp and strong that stuff is. I use it on 90% of my rigs.

I think it was around 22" & 6-6.5lbs I caught spring of 09. This was right at the beginning of my "blow almost every single spare cent I have on tackle" faze I'm still in, so I got her on my first Revo(an 09 Premier) & it was either my 7' M BPS Bionic Blade or 6'6" MH Fenwick Techna spooled with either 10 or 14lb Trilene XL. The lure I was using was a #5 Mepps Chartreuse Black Fury inline spinner. I was throwing inlines a whole lot back then, but I just don't throw them hardly at all anymore. I won't be throwing any until fall this year at the earliest, as the weeds have taken over my various fishing holes already.

7LB 4OZ LMB caught in March of 2010 in NJ. Water temp was 49 degrees. I caught her on a gold and black xrap on 10LB Berkley 100 percent flouro, a Shimano Curado E7, and a Kistler Magnesium TWJB rod.

My PB was this past Febuary. I didn't have a scale but the fish was 24" and prespawn. I figure it was 8.25 plus

I was using 7'1" Steez Harrier, BPS Pro Qualifier Tournament, 15# Vicious FC, and a 1/2oz black/blue jig with a BPS twin tail grub. Prior to that my personal best was a little over 7 lbs caught last August. It was caught on a 7' MH Steez/BPS PQT and a green pumpkin baby brush hog.

Both of these rods have been my most expensive purchases, so it's nice catching your biggest fish on them!

Monday June 21 2010. I'd been having good luck all day with a 6" zoom watermelon lizard, when I felt hard thump in on the end of my line. I reel up the slack, feel pressure and set the hook hard. My drag slips, but I get a good hook set. She starts coming to the surface and I put my rod down in the water to prevent her form jumping. Despite that she lunges almost all the way out of the water. I get her close and she goes mad and starts pulling drag. She gets close, I reach down to lip her, take a few pics, get it weighed and put her back to swim free! =D>

6'6" Cabelas XML jig/worm rod, BPS johnny Morris gold reel, and 40lb Power Pro braid.
6" zoom watermelon lizard, 3/16 oz bullet weight, 3/0 mustad worm hook.

I've got the hook, the weight, the lizard, and a section of line still with me! ;)

my biggest bass was 5-6 lb bass on ul rod, 1/64 jig paired with 1-2 in grub for crappie, caught that took me over 15 mins to land because the hook was so small the head color was white with chartuse grub
females are more confusing than bass fishing
