Looking for some ideas on organizing terminal tackle
Looking for some new ideas to organize my terminal tackle.
What are some things you guys do for organizing hooks and weights?

bass mafia boxes. Used to use Falcon terminal box. I like the Bass Mafia boxes, but they can be limiting if you like to carry a ton of tackle or a wide variety of tackle. I have 6 hook boxes and 3 weight boxes. Weight boxes leave a little to be desired.

Yeah I was looking up the bass mafia coffins. Thinking I might pick up a double deep one and that way I could store my hooks and weights in the packages and slip them into the double deep spots. Thought that would be a great way to organize.

Anyone here use the daiwa tactical back pack? Or similar?
Really trying to become more organized this year. Some of us don't have boats to store all our boxes in lol need some type of backpack to carry around

The Bass Mafia terminal coffins suck. Like terrible suck. I do use their 3700 bait coffin for terminal tackle and it works very well.

I started using the Gamagatsu G boxes, and really like them.

I use these: https://www.amazon.com/Storage-Stackabl ... 9252&psc=1
There are different sizes, search a little to determine what works for you.

I like these for the fixed compartments the keep the hooks from sliding under the dividers. https://www.planomolding.com/fishing/st ... waway-3600
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/plano-p ... k-n-sinker
I like these for storing jigs still in the packaging. Take out half of the dividers.

I like these also. They may be smaller, but you can change them out for what you want to bring with you.

These are good for storing your extras at home.

Re: Looking for some ideas on organizing terminal tackle
Started putting everything in little plastic bags. That way ive got less dividers in the box and you can really fit alot more stuff in there. I use the regular Bass Mafia boxes
Re: Looking for some ideas on organizing terminal tackle
Not hi tech or will not work depending on your set up but I use little prescription pill bottle for my small stuff. It seems like the plastic packaging that most of the terminal tackle comes in usually rips or is hard to open when your hands are wet and cold and want to blow away when it is windy. Small weights, clips etc will fit in these and wont open up with the locking cap.

Haven't used them myself, but look decent. Hopefully others on here will recommend fishing backpacks that they have used.leggomye990 wrote:Hmm Piscifun backpack looks very decent for the price
Don't do much shore fishing. This is what I used in my $800 craigslist boat before I traded it in on a RT178, https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/plano-7 ... tackle-box

Re: Looking for some ideas on organizing terminal tackle
I recently went thru and re-organized my fishing retirement investment. I purchased some of the steel freestanding shelving systems from homedepot, some flip top lidded clear plastic bins, smaller cheap Tupperware containers, and a ton of those zip lock bags that are more long and narrow than they are wide. I put all my loose hooks and weights in ziplocks and then organize the hook packages or ziplocks in The Tupperware containers (weighted hooks, worm hooks, jigs, panfish, river basing, etc. then the Tupperware containers get labels and stacked inside the plastic bins.
I do this for most of the gear depending on the size and quantity of things I have. The plastics just get sorted and put straight into the plastic bins without any Tupperware or ziplocks. Fly gear gets sorted in a similar manner using various fly boxes, old prescription bottles, or whatever else I am storing in this week.
I put the wire rack shelving at the back of my closet (we have a long wide closet). It holds 18 of the plastic crate bins. On the closet ceiling side walls, I mounted a few steel rings and just strung some parachord across the ceiling about 4 inches down. 2 runs of parachord serve as my poor mans ceiling rod rack.
I usually pack a backpack for most fishing outings and keep a few pre-stocked plastic boxes with most commonly used items depending on the time of the year. That way I can run out to the river on a moments notice when my wife turns her back for a second!
