When I was in Colorado last week I saw some fly reels that looked very cool, but I wondered about the quality. Madison IIA Artist fly reels, they go for about $250 or so. I know they are no ABEL but does anyone have any experience with them?
I am a very novice fly fisherman. I know the basics and cannot tie very well. What I do know is most of the big brands and who makes decent to excellent quality products from a big retailer perspective, since I have worked for BPS and Cabela's for a combined 6 years. I don't mean this in an arrogant way. I actually mean this in a naive way. Please, any advice on the Madison reels would be much appreciated.
