Spinning equipment for fly fishing?

Post by ogrich31 » Sun Sep 24, 2006 4:27 pm

have any of you guys used spinning gear for fly fishing? I've seen people using floating bubbles and then having a fly at the end (tied a couple of feet after the bubble, like a leader) and catching fish with it on there spinning gear. If you have used this or seen this, how long should the leader be and what kind of fly do you recommend for fishing this way? And also how should I use it?

Thanks :)

P.S. I don't fly fish but it seems really interesting and i might get into it

Hello,
I fish flies with my spinning gear. This is my favorite way to fish for trout. I use the smaller sized water bubbles and fill them full if I want to sink the fly or half full for floating flies. I generally use a leader that is as long as my rod. If you have a float tube then trolling flies is also a great way to fish.
