... except that you can't fish a 250 on a small reel, and you do in fact pull the bait with the reel.
Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Fair enough but I wouldn't be casting the 175 on the same rod as the 250. Why I made my recommendation. You may not agree with that either. We may as well agree to disagree.SwimbaitsatLMV wrote:... except that you can't fish a 250 on a small reel, and you do in fact pull the bait with the reel.

I just got the Daiwa Lexa 300HL and already upgraded it with the 3 missing bearings. Also opened it, cleaned and greased with ZPI F-0 Medium grease. It looks like a solid low pro reel, there's enough weight in the main gear and the handle shaft... I'll see how it does with the Deps 250 once I get the rod built as well.

The Deps 250 is pretty much all I've used it for since acquiring my first 250 3 yrs. ago. Reel is stock and still solid.

Thanks for the confirmation, I heard lots of good things about the Lexa, that's why I got one. Looking forward to use it, really... but my custom rod is far from being ready.
