Sorry haven't had a chance to throw it yet.Water temps here are around 45deg. so still throwing small and slow baits for a while.

Don't wait too long, 50 deg is when I start to hammer the big girls on the rubber swimmers. Stay slow but small is not necessary.

I understand, I used to be the same way. The week before I caught my first Largemouth on an 8" Hudd, I went into the shallows to film a vid for YT. What I startled out of the shallow brush caused my jaw to drop so I started fishing in this area that I usually stayed away from until the water temp was closer to 60 (it was 50 that day). I had 3 different fish follow my Hudd multiple times, all between 6-8 lbs. Needless to say I was stunned. The next week I went right back there and stuck my first Hudd Largemouth, 6lbs.-9oz. and it's been on ever since. I still have that very bait and it only has one "small" fish to it's a credit, a lowly 5 lber., everything else is over 6 and up to 7-13. When I see 50, I get super stoked.

Cool,we should start seeing 50deg. consistently by next week. Its been 43-48.Now you got me stoked! They want 3-6" snow sunday with this nor'easter coming. That may slow things down but air temps will be back in the upper 60's by the end of next week.We still have some grass due to the mild winter but no takers on a usually reliable crank bait pattern.
I'll keep you guys posted as to how this bait performs.

badass bait...have heard a lot of guys say they needed a weighted hook to get it to swim straight, but have rigged a few and never had that problem myself.
