Which style do you prefer sinking or floating for 0 to 8 feet and what line works best.

I would personally get a floater, since its easy to wrap wire around the hooks to make it sink the rate I want.

Id say get a floater, since you can easily mod it to sink. As far as line, Id say nothing less than 20lb. Never braid, seeing how most "fishermen" buy these to flip them, youll be paying close to double retail to replace one.

Too late :lol: Ahh of course I order the sinking version. Next time. 25 lbs mono or flouro?

A thick mono would slow the sink rate a little, while the flouro would speed the fall. Sounds like you need to go with either 25# Berkley Big Game or P-Line CXX.

slowsink.
customize sink rate by using different hooks and split ring sizes/styles.
too much added weight on a floating gill impedes the action.
and i use 20# big game

I have the sinking version of this lure.

I like to use Sunline Defier 22 lb.
