Huddleston 6inch vs 68 spl
Which would be a better bet in cold water. The standard 6 inch or the harder thumping 68 spl.
Re: Huddleston 6inch vs 68 spl
Traditional advice is to go with the more subtle lures in cold water. However, in this case I would let water clarity dictate which to throw - more thump in off-colored water.

I, like most people, have always felt like the regular 6" is a little too subtle. I have caught fish on the 6", but I have never crushed them like I do with the 8". You can tell by the big success of the 68 that it is most likely a better all around bait than the 6". We throw the 68 a lot during the day and night in the West in places where the 8" may be a little too big. The 68 has been more productive in all situations for me.

+1 I fish the 8" mostly, but if I do fish a smaller size; it's a 68. Clear water, day, night, doesn't matter; bait just gets bit better for me.toddmc wrote:I, like most people, have always felt like the regular 6" is a little too subtle. If guys are throwing the original 8 in cold water than that should tell you all you need to know about it.
