Reccomend me a swimbait rod
Reccomend me a swimbait rod
Bought a Conquest 250 DC to throw 1 to 3 ounce baits like 3:16 Rising Son and other line thru swimbaits. Now I need a rod to pair with the reel. Looking for recommendations from the more experienced.

Re: Reccomend me a swimbait rod
TW has the Powell Max SBR's on sale! Great rods for GREAT price!

Willing to spend up to $350.00. I have been getting a lot of recommendations for the Dobyns Mike Long model.

If you have the money buy the LDC. I am not a fan of dobyns. The guide inserts pop out way too often and they aren't anything special.

The Dobyns 795ML has served me well in that lure range. My overall preference is the 806ML because of the longer butt section and although it will work an ounce lure it shines better at 2oz plus.tolliver7 wrote:Willing to spend up to $350.00. Re: Reccomend me a swimbait rod
Dobyns 908 has been my work horse. I cast everything from a super spook and 5 in bullshad to the deps 250. I alternate reels from curado 300 (with 65# 832 braid) to calcutta te (with 25# cxx)and even luna 300. Curado works nice on the smaller baits while the te works great with both, esp if u just add an abec7 bearing. May need to brake up if two abec7. Just the stainless steel ones, the orange bocas may be much on the te or luna
