Still frozen solid here so no chance to try the 262's but the 185's worked well for me last summer.

I am using #3 (40lb) braid and I find it difficult to do the 360 turn as well. It doesn't really matter as it swims well anyway but it is fun to do that 360 turn. Maybe I should try mono later? I saw the Megabass guy on youtube using 14lb fluoro which looks a bit too thin?
I think 14 pounds is fine for 1 oz baits. You obviously have to work the fish, but good quality lines on proper casts shouldn't snap. I personally prefer using lighter lines, since I like to really fight the fish instead of hoisting them in, and the smaller diameter allows the baits to achieve wider glide with less resistance.

I just added an I-Slide 185 to the arsenal. Other than saltwater fishing, I've never thrown a bait quite as big as the 185. I think I'm going to start out with 20lb fluoro for the 135 and 25lb fluoro for the 185. I may experiment with some mono in similar strength, too.

How do the 185's swim on pike/muskie leader in the 50-70 lb range?

I have used the 185s for pike with 100lb fluoro leader and they swim well. Can't do the 360 with the leader but the glide is good and they get bit. Sorry no pics but I have nothing bad to say other than the stock hooks are only good for your first fish.

What pound line are you guys using with your 185 and 135s. I figured 50# braid, but I'm rethinking it after reading this thread, is that too heavy? I will be using a 35# nickle titanium leader due to pike, so not super worried about the 360 turn, more interested in maximum casting distance....

One word of caution if you use hook bonnets - the purple Owner plastic ones will melt the tail if it touches for a while.

Nice to know. I think the spare tails are about $5 each and i bought a few in different colors from Japan.
