Tatula Type R for Swimbaiting?
Can I use my Tatula Type R 6.3:1 as a swimbait reel? My buddy told me to use 20lbs Berkley Big Game mono but Im sure that i cant get that much line on that reel. Reel is going to be mated to a Dobyns 806 MLSB. I cant afford a Calcutta 401TE right now so this is all i have.

What pound test and type of line will you be using?

I've got my 6.3 Type-R on a 7'3" Heavy action rod with 20lb. Sniper for pitching and 6" swimbaits. It works great for both applications. The heaviest bait I've thrown is the 3:16 Sunfish that is about 1 3/4oz. That is well within the Type-R's wheelhouse. Anything over 2oz. is probably a bit much. Line capacity isn't an issue.

been using the TATOOT TYPE R (couldnt resist) with a savage gear glide swimmer 1 3/4oz. no problem. 15lb maxima 7'3 daiwa flipping rod. can throw a bbz pretty damn well also.
