Lucky Craft Real California Premium swimbait

Post by simple_mr2 » Mon Sep 24, 2007 12:00 pm

since it is relatively cheap, i was thinking of getting this bait for pike. think it will work? does anyone have this bait? i live in ohio sb fishing isnt all that popular here, but i figured it might be handy to have a swimbait laying around.

thanks

get a R2Sea Kong in Perch! They have way more action and very durable for the same price.

Or you could get some Mattlures east coast baits, they look insane and swim good.

IMHO, I would never waste my $ on the Lucky Craft Real Californian. I was really excited about this bait when it came out last year because of Lucky Crafts unreal reputation that they've built with their other hard baits. This particular bait had little to no action and I think you would be done fishing it after a trip or two. I sold mine after 1 trip to the lake and some swim tests in the pool.

wow, i thought it would be a great bait because of lucky crafts reputaion. good think i posted here.

as for the river2sea kong bait. the river i fish is basically shallow with rather heavy cover. do you think the shorter floating one would be a good choice??

I echo Lucas on this bait.. the only thing "Real" about this bait was the let down.. Save your money...

The Lucky Craft real Bait is much better if your looking to stick with LC..

I have both versions, the Real California Premium and the JDM Amago, pretty baits, not much action, if you are looking at LCs better get the Real California, costs the same, has 20 times more action that the other one.

My only experience with LC swimbaits was with the Real California 130 Premium. I though the action was terrible and broke 2 fins the 3rd time I used it.

bab,
If you squint hard in the picture it shows MSRP being 54.99.

Which means I'm buying atleast 4 of them. They look AWESOME and I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on them.

I dont know my swimbaits like some of you but that real skin LC swimbait looks more realistic then most of the swimbaits ive seen.

Seems to me Lucky Craft is learning swimbait lure making as they go. They have came out with 3 or 4 past versions already they're bound to hit a home run sometime.

That thing looks too awesome for me to wait to hear reports. So I'll be giving everyone reports as soon as I find them :D

Now it's off to the lake for a little Castaic Trout action.
