Slammer and shellcracker fish from last night.

Post by njvbass » Thu Aug 02, 2007 6:24 am

fished from 9:30 - 12:30 last night. Had a couple nice wacks on a 7" slammer and shellcracker which is gone by the way after I had one snap my 20# test last night. I think it was hung up in my line and had every hook in it because it was struggling to jump and I couldn't get any any control of it. Just a rod bending and lots of splashing. It was dark so assuming it was Bass.

tackle used was XH setyr , calcutta TE gT , with 20# Mcoys mean green

I went back this morning and combed the 30 acre lake looing for my shellcracker but I didn't see it. :(

Here are some pics

I've been fishing it the last 6 weeks and haven't had one suttle hit. They crush it, in all types of water, from clear to muddy. It's a nice and small wake bait at 5" . The durability isn't anything like a 3:16 though. Mine was starting to show wood back by the tail. Still swam straight and clacked.

Lubina, you know where to get MS slammer tail replacements? I don't feel as confident with a Fin-s nailed in for a tail.

I would call Mike Shaw directly ( 435-586-0853. ) I've talked to him a couple of times and he has been very helpful and nice.

My Flat Side Slammer came with and extra tail, if you need it you can have it.
Let me know and i'll mail it to you.

Thanks lubina, but you'll need that tail eventually. I'll give Mike a call.
