What would be your top five swimbaits under $25 that you would throw at Amistad.

Castaic Premium Bluegill - around $15
Bass Pro Shops XPS Swimbait - $1.99 if you can find them
Basstrix Tube Swimbait - $10 if you can find them anywhere, otherwise they're $40+ on eBay.

That's at least what I plan on throwing down there.

I currently use the 6" XPS with swapped out hooks. I will be replacing everything with Owner ST-36 hooks and Owner Hyperwire split rings

I had some luck down at the Elite Series on the Optimum 6" Titan in Pearl Shad, might be some better colors to try as well - http://www.landbigfish.com/tacklestore/ ... iteID=1485

Let me re phrase that. I have a BCR854 and a BCFR894 by Loomis. Which one would be a better choice. The 894 has a Curado 200DHSV and the 854 has a Chronarch 100.

Bassonly(great screen name 8-) ): I'm not familiar with those rods but a MH or a Heavy, 7' rod is what I use. Either reel should work just fine.

Don't forget to slather on a glob of Megastrike attractant to cover up the plastic smell and to make the bait slick for a better hookset.

One more question: what line? I was planning on using a 20-25 pound fluorocarbon for my deeper swimbaits (i.e. ml bb) and 50 pound braid for my wakebaits.
