Curado 70 slop
Curado 70 slop
Hello, I have a Curado 70HG and noticed there is "slop" or a slight disconnect if I pull the star drag handle opposite from the frame of the reel. I can definitely feel it. It seems like something might be "disengaging" or not shimmed out. Whenever I put my thumb on the spool or a "load" on the reel it is not apparent and seems fine. I am wondering if I am missing something in the assembly. Sorry if its not much help
Re: Curado 70 slop
A little play in the drive shaft as you described is normal. We can try to shim it tighter but there is such a thing as too tight. It's possible, although rare, that the screws that holds the driveshaft down to the frame have become loose. Without seeing the reel in person it's hard to say if the play is acceptable or not.
Re: Curado 70 slop
Thank you for the quick response! I think I may have been too anal and overthinking it. I only had it for a month and is my first Shimano bait caster so I am only just figuring things out. It is a great caster.
This is a separate question that may not pertain to you but I did receive my 2nd Shimano today. It is the JDM Shimano Aldebaran BFS. I received 2 oils and was wondering what specifically the BFS oil in the green bottle is used for and if you sell it? Thanks again!

Re: Curado 70 slop
The BFS oil is lighter than our regular oil. It does require more frequent application because it is so light. We do not offer this in the US. The reel and the oil are Japan only.
