STci4+2500FA Knob
I did a complete tear down of the above reel just now as it got dunked in a trout stream. The large red cap or screw seems stuck. I have a large screwdriver that fits it perfect, yet it is stuck. I can see the plastic underneath the foam turning as I turn the driver. Then I grabbed another identical reel that's been sitting in the house for months, and same thing. Any idea how I get it off? The handle is working fine now, but I would like to service the bearings on the handle shaft.
Thank you
Thank you

The lower part of the plastic is squard off so you can find a spanner to fit which'll hold it...
Best to use a small coin than a screwdriver on the cap as its got less chance of marking the red anodised surface.
I've glued the EVA foam of those knobs to the plastic shafts, of those that I do for others that have peeled apart.
Also pays to slightly grease the O ring of the aluminium cap as that can stick to the plastic inner and be tough to undo in time.

Or squeeze the knob tightly and turn the cover with a screw driver or coin.

Thanks for the tips. In case anyone ever finds this post looking for the same info I used a 10mm wrench and it fit perfect. Had to scrunch up the foam knob to get the wrench to fit. I put light grease on the threads to avoid the sticking in the future.
