Star drag and handle options, Scorpion XT?

Post by JontaK » Tue Mar 12, 2019 4:16 pm

I have a Scorpion XT 1500 and I'd like another star drag (metal if possible) and handle.
Avail has had a few options but the star drags seem to be out of stock everywhere I've looked.

I've been looking at parts from other Shimano reels.
Does anyone know if the star drag and handle from the 16 or 17 Stile or any other reel will fit the 1500?

Might want to post this in the Shimano Support Forum, Bantam might be of help. Brian.

If my memory is correct, the 1500 XT is an older model correct? Late 1990's to early 2000's?

Isn't the Scorpion 1500XT the JDM version of the Curado 200E? I believe it was produced from 2009-2013.

Tackle Tour did a review back in 2010.

There were different models by year. I would need to know the exact model.

Very hard to find star drags for them reels now. Try and email HawgTech, as I think Mike has a bunch of CU200E drag stars that are anodized. They also sell nice carbon fiber handles. Email is support@hawgtech.com

Yeah!! =D> someone reads and remembers our reviews, thank you :D

Of the ones I've fished, if memory serves me correctly - and that's a BIG IF  :

Scorpion 1500/1501 XT = Curado E 200

Scorpion 1500/1501 without the "XT" = Curado B 200

Scorpion 70/71 = Curado 70/71

Scorpion 1000/1001 XT = Curado 50 E

Scorpion 1000/1001 = Curado B 100

I believe the star was painted to match the body on that model. The star for the Curado E is discontinued. You may have to look at the aftermarket places like ZPI and others.
