03 or 09 Conquest DC to Non-DC Conversion?

Post by Cranky » Tue Feb 26, 2019 5:15 pm

Might be an odd question but is it possible to replace the spool in a 2003 or 2009 Conquest DC series with a non-DC spool? Basically want to know if I can convert an old DC frame into a functional non-DC reel.

Thanks.

The dimensions are slightly different. You could remove the hub from the spool that the DC acts against to slow the spool.

Would you replace the DC module with a VBS on the spool shaft in that case?

It cannot be done. The brake hub threads into the frame on the non DC models. The DC models are machined fiferent to hold the DC and they use screws to hold it in place.
