2014 Stella 1000FI deep spool

Post by ulbc2 » Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:25 am

Is there any deep spool available for Stella 1000/2000 FI? Is Stella 1000FJ deep spool interchangeable with FI model?
I have been searching a lot and only I can find shallower spools for my Stella 1000PGSFI. Super shallow , extra shallow and mega shallower spools.....](*,)

We didn't offer the 1000 FI model in the US. I'm not sure if there were different depth spools available for it. The spools on the new models are deeper for the US market. I am not sure if they interchange. The person that has access to that info is out this week. I will ask him when he returns. I suspect it does not work. It may physically fit, but the line lay will more than likely be different due to the different oscillation and body sizing.

It's really strange because here in Europe all Shimano 1000 range equips 0.20mm/140m deep spools, including the new Stella FJ... . So we will wait and see what your co-worker says. Thank you!! O:)

I know the FJ spool is not the shallow spool type. They do offer many types of Stella's in Japan, both spool capacities and gear ratios.

Except for the 1000 or 2000FI model. There is no trace of big capacity spool, not even in Japan :( . All the Yumeya spools are shallower. 1.5lb/100m, 2lb/100m and 2.5/100m ](*,)

In Japan they use these reels for trout fishing. This is why the spools are so shallow. They do not need to hold much line when they are using 2-4# mono or 4-5# braided line.

Yes, I also use it for trout in small streams, I bought it for that :D , but I would like to have another spool to use in reservoirs with larger fish (pike, black bass, fluviatilis perch) and thicker mono (0.22mm)

I understand completely. Next week i will be traveling to our other office again. The person with the details on the spools and dimensions will be back in the office next week. I will have the answer at that point and i will let you know.

The spool from the Stella 1000FJ will work on the Stella C2000S and the JDM 2014 Stella 1000. The 2500 spool will not work on the C2500HGSFI due to different rotor dimensions. So you have one option for a deeper spool to work on your older reels.
