Even though I have fished with my new Curado K, while on the water last week the cover popped open. When I examined the problem with a magnifying glass and bright light at home, I discover an ever so tiny burr on the little lip on the frame into which the lock slide goes thereby preventing it from engaging. I took a tiny hobby diamond file and carefully filed off the burr and bingo, the lock slide engages all the way.

The only time we have seen any issues with this is when the customer has the cast control adjusted too tightly. They then try to force the side plate closed resulting in damage to the lock ring on the side plate.
