Will Core 101MG gears work in a Metanium MG?

I just picked up a used Metanium MG (6.2:1, left hand) and I'm wondering if its sibling U.S. model Core 101MG aluminum main drive and pinion gears will work with it. I see the Core 101MG parts are still available from Shimano's site, and I found a forum thread on another site where a user (not Shimano staff afaik) says that Core 101MG parts will fit the Metanium MG Left Hand model.

Is there any possibility of obtaining a brass gear that will fit the Metanium MG? I see in older posts that a Chronarch 101D7 gear will work in the 101MG, but I can't find Chronarch D parts on Shimano's site and I'd prefer to keep the 6:1 ratio anyways.

Also, could I use the same key washer or is that the same on both models as well?

Assuming you have the Metanium MG that is built with the same tooling as CORE, then yes it will work.

The only brass gear set that will work is for the 7:1 ratio. The key washer and drag washer are different for the 7:1 drive gear. Both the drive gear and pinion gear for the CH101D7 have been discontinued for over a year.

Parts you would need to complete the conversion if you can find the gears:

Awesome, thanks for the info! So for a 1:1 replacement of the gears I should be good to just get the main drive gear and pinion gear for the Core 101MG and I don't need to buy another key washer, correct?
