Shimano 50/51 Calcutta Owners, Reel Seat Question
I have the Calcutta 51 and I am having issues of wobble when I mount the Calcutta to any casting rods I own. Really annoying when reeling. Or is there a way to add shims to the reel seat area to get rid of the wobble?
Do you own a rod that the Caluttar 50/51 won't wobble on? A couple rods, it's a bit tighter but you can still feel a slight wobble.
Any help, suggestions?

Re: Shimano 50/51 Calcutta Owners, Reel Seat Question
Cut a strip of plastic from a container that is the same size as the reel foot. Use this as a pad between reel and rod. Had the same problem when mounting a Conquest 100hg on a Steez Blitz. Now rock solid.

Wrap some (masking) tape on both ends of the reel's foot. Keeps away scratches too.

Reel seats vary in size depending on the size manufacturers decide on for the final rod build. The plastic shim works the best. We used to offer them, but the demand was so low that we discontinued the shims. You can wrap a little tape around the foot, or cut the plastic. I prefer the plastic.

Check the foot of the reel and see if it itself is not loose.
I had the same issue, with a different reel. No matter what rod I put it on, the reel felt loose. Come to find that the foot is loose where it joins the reel and rivet :'(
