I just wanted to let everyone know that Conquest rods have started shipping to the dealers.

Is the Conquest line going to affect the NRX line at all? I know both lines have the MBR tapers but, is the JWR rods from the NRX line staying?

What was the reason for a such long delay?
The Shimano G. Loomis Conquest MBR Casting Rods is currently available for pre-order - and expected to arrive by mid summer.*

Looks like NRX will be bottom contact(JWR series) and Conquest will be do everything, multipurpose type moving bait rods(MBR series). MBR has been discontinued in the NRX version.

The MBR and SJR models in the NRX line have been discontinued. Aside from that there will be no changes.

You're a scorpio Dan; I knew I liked you. October 29th here; but I'm 46; thinking you are a decade younger or so....

Take care friend.

Bantam,
I just got my 843c Conquest. In my first short trip out, it is very clear that the MBR with the fast tip is much softer than my NRX. It is clearly going to be more versatile, but am I going to like it as much for jig and worm fishing (primary use of this rod) as the NRX I sold.

Are you comparing the 843c Conquest to the 843c NRX? Maybe I missed where you mentioned what model NRX you had and sold.

The rod I sold was a NRX 853c. The rod I replaced it with was a Conquest 843c.

NRX has an extra fast action and the Conquest has a fast action. The difference will be noticed immediately. However, I feel the Conquest has more hook setting power than the NRX. It also casts much better as far as accuracy. Try roll casting the rod and you will see immediately the blank recovers quickly and you have virtually zero line slap in the guides.
