Chronarch / Metanium MGL spool swap?

I just ordered a JDM Metanium MGL, and didn't realize it had less line capacity than a US version. It's like a 70 or 100 size. However, I also have a US version Chronarch MGL 150. Are any of these options possible?

1 - take the spool off the shaft and swap spools only

2 - put the small current JDM Metanium MGL spool assembly with SilentTune bearing into the Chronarch MGL, then order the 150 size Metanium spool for the JDM Metanium

Exploring options. I hate to return the reel to Japan only due to spool capacity because I got it for $300.

Any help would be appreciated. Also, can't find any schematics for the Chronarch MGL.
