Another Handle For the Curado 70?

I am lovin my Curado 70XG and waiting for another to arrive and wonder if there is a longer handle from another Shimano reel which will fit the 70?

Metanium XG handle. Very cheap upgrade if you just buy the handle and swap knobs from Curado. Can also add 2 bearings per knob to the Met handle which the Curado doesn't have.

Metanium XG handle length is 96mm and I believe the Curado handle is 84mm. XG handle will make the reel feel more powerful under load because of the added length. Might also need the handle nut retainer if trying to keep it stock.

Just measured the handle again on Curado 70XG on my digital calipers and it measures 93mm. I guess not worth the $32 to change.

Curado handle is 84mm from center of knob post to center of knob post. XG handle is 96mm from center to center. There's a big difference there.

Might be a little late to reply to this, but the Metanium MGL handles fit without any other parts. Got mine from the Tackle Trap. Awesome upgrade to go to the XG handle.

You CAN buy handle withOUT knobs just depends on the model.

70 retainer will work on 96mm XG handle.
Im going to bed if wanted I can get a pic of the 96mm handle on CU70 tomorrow.

If you get the complete Metanium XG handle with the knobs you will see the knobs are slightly larger. I personally prefer them over the knobs on the 70. I just don't like this long of a handle on the small 70 sized reel. To each his own...
