core 100mg side plate removal
core 100mg side plate removal
Please help me with my core 100mg.
Trying to figure out how to remove a handle side plate to replace gears on 100mg.
Apparently it is completely different from Chronarch E, I see 1 screw inside at the bottom and 1 more behind the spool ( need to remove the spool first to get access).
But where is the 3rd screw located?
Thank you.

Re: core 100mg side plate removal
The 3rd screw is behind the level wind. You will need a long skinny phillips head driver to access the screw.
When looking at the reel from the left side, with the level wind at the front, look thru the level wind at the gear side.
Good luck.

Got it, Thank you!
Re: core 100mg side plate removal
While swapping core 100 gears with 100 mg7 , I put new and old pinion gear together on a table and now got confused which one is my 7:1 pinion gear )
7:1 ratio pinion gear will have a smaller diameter with less teeth compared to 6:1 , correct?
Thank you.

Re: core 100mg side plate removal
More teeth equals faster gearing.
Re: core 100mg side plate removal
The pinion should have less teeth on the 7:1 but the main gear will have more. The diameter will be close and the tooth count difference might only be 1. The new gear will be nice and shiny with no wear marks. It should be easy to see.
Re: core 100mg side plate removal
It was an a new core 100, so both pinion gears were shiny and made of brass, main gear is aluminum on core 100 so it was easy) Thank you for reply.
